Hoopla About Noni Juice

Noni juice has become an embodiment as a beverage with numerous benefits. The market has been inundated with the claims of different manufacturers to producing the best Noni juice and other Noni-based products. But what is the big hoopla about Noni juice? What is it really? What can it do? Where is it from and is it really effective?

The Noni Tree

Noni juice is processed from a tree known as Morinda Citrifolia. In the Malayan language, it is called Mengkudo while the Hawaiians and Tahitians refer to it as Noni. In some places its name is Nonu or Indian Mulberry. It is believed that this tree is indigenous to Southeast Asia but it also grows in the some island in the Pacific and the Indian subcontinent. Currently, Tahiti is the largest known source of Noni.

People can enjoy the fruits and flowers of the Noni tree all throughout the year but once the fruits start the ripening process, the ensuing pungent odor may become too much for some. It has been used in various ways such as poultice applied on swollen parts of the body even for arthritis, dye used in batik and tonic for a variety of ailments including fever and cough.

Of all the Noni-based products in the market, the Noni juice is considered to be the most in demand for its supposedly high level of anti-oxidants.

The Noni Juice and Its Effect on the Body

The processing of the Noni juice starts when it is ripe enough to be picked after which it is made into a puree. Then depending on the manufacturers, water or other additives are put in before the final processes of packaging the juices are done.

It boasts of a lot of benefits because of its anti-oxidant properties. It enhances the immune system enabling the body to ward off most common medical ailments. It helps get rid of toxins and protects the body from the harmful effects of the environment. Another claim of Noni juice is that it enhances the digestive process of the body enabling the better absorption of nutrients from foods.

Though there is also Noni in the form of capsules, the juice is deemed to be much better because by then some nutrients might be lost. The best to way to take in the juice is when the stomach is still empty and with plenty of water. It is recommended that daily intake should be around one ounce.

Noni juice is considered as a food supplement and the curative capacity is yet to be approved despite the belief of a large number of people that it can treat some medical conditions. Its level of efficacy in such cases has yet to be determined.

Where to Get the Noni Juice

The Noni juice is rarely seen on the shelves of grocery and health stores. There are specialty stores and multilevel companies who distribute it but the main source presently are the online stores where the products are delivered directly to the customers.
